Common problems
- Items needing permits are held until cleared.
- Prohibited items (toy guns with projectiles, e-cigarettes, rolling papers) are seized and fined.
- Parcels on the same flight to the same person count as one consignment.
Tips
- Duties are calculated on Cost + Insurance + Freight (CIF), not just the price.
- Tobacco, wine, spirits, arms and goods for sale never get the Rs 1,000 exemption.
