Tourist arrivals in Mauritius
The number of foreign visitors arriving in Mauritius in a year.
668,471
Where it stands
2026 is slower: 668,471 arrivals in January-June (+1.5%). The first quarter was strong (348,445, +6.8%) but the second quarter fell about 3.8% (320,026 against 332,520: MoBriefs calculation from the two releases) as Middle East disruption hit flights. Tourism earnings reached Rs 103 billion in 2025 (Budget Speech).
What it means
Tourism has fully recovered. The question now is value rather than volume: spending per visitor, year-round demand, air connectivity and protecting beaches from erosion.
